If you find your mind wanders while meditating, I invite you to join me for this short practice. Because it requires a lot of concentration, you may find yourself focusing more on your breath, sound and finger movement and less on your to-do list.

The purpose of this meditation is to increase self-efficacy—the belief that what you do makes a difference. And it has been scientifically proven to do just that. When it comes to changing a habit, we all want to feel that our actions are actually going to result in something—whether we are embarking on a new fitness routine or trying to get more sleep. By strengthening this belief, you are much more likely to stick with that new behavior.

In this video, I spend a little extra time at the beginning with instructions. If you are familiar with Pauri Kriya and want to jump right into the three-minute meditation, consider joining me starting around 4:20.
