Wouldn’t you love to have something with you at all times to help your during stressful situations? You do! It’s your breath, and the technique we’ll be practicing, square breath, is simple and works very quickly.
Inhale slowly and steadily through the nose for a count of 10.
Gently hold the breath for a count of 10.
Exhale slowly and completely through the nose for a count of 10.
Hold the breath out for a count of 10.
And repeat as long as necessary. Honestly, five minutes should do the trick.
If you find that a count of 10 is challenging for you, it’s perfectly acceptable to start with a count of five. Just try to keep each segment equal.
