Do you have certain things or situations that can turn a great day into a bad one? Today I’ll be guiding you through the Meditation to Conquer Upset. It will help change your perception and stop those negative thought patterns.
I will tell you—it’s a bit of a challenging one from a physical perspective but do give it a try. It’s worth it!
Sitting tall, either in a chair or on the floor. With the palms facing the body, interlace the fingers so that they are on the inside of the palms. Your thumbs are pointed up. Bend the middle and ring fingers so they are pressing against each other with moderate force. Your pinky and index fingers are straight.
Now raise your elbows up so the hand mudra is at the level of your throat. Your eyes are focused at the tip of your nose.
Inhale and repeat the mantra “Ong Kar” five times on that one breath. Inhale again and continue. For the last couple of minutes, I’ll ask you to pull harder on the hands, as if you are trying to pull them apart.
Remember! This is a meditation to conquer upset! Just do your best. And if possible, when you are done, give yourself a few minutes to reconnect with your surroundings before moving on with your day.
