In today’s Moment of Calm, I will be guiding you through a mindful breathing meditation that can help you act with good judgement and focus during stressful situations.
One thing I forgot to mention in the video: The instructions say to pull in your navel center (two inches below your belly button) each time you exhale, which will make your exhale more complete.
Throughout the meditation, you will be suspending your breath for a short time as you inhale and exhale. If this is new to you, you can find more information and instructions on doing this correctly at: https://www.3ho.org/files/pdfs/suspending-the-breath.pdf.
If at any point, you feel dizzy or disoriented, please do not continue.

If the word “burnout” resonates with you like it does for me, this simple breathwork meditation can help. While the hand mudra is unusual and may appear to be uncomfortable, I found it brought me to a place of peace almost immediately. I hope it does the same for you.
It’s recommended you practice this meditation only when there is time to remain still and relaxed upon completion.
You can do this sitting on the floor or in a chair. We will be practicing for three minutes, but you can work your way up to 11 minutes and eventually 31 minutes.
