Do you have certain things or situations that can turn a great day into a bad one? Today I’ll be guiding you through the Meditation to Conquer Upset. It will help change your perception and stop those negative thought patterns.
I will tell you—it’s a bit of a challenging one from a physical perspective but do give it a try. It’s worth it!
Sitting tall, either in a chair or on the floor. With the palms facing the body, interlace the fingers so that they are on the inside of the palms. Your thumbs are pointed up. Bend the middle and ring fingers so they are pressing against each other with moderate force. Your pinky and index fingers are straight.
Now raise your elbows up so the hand mudra is at the level of your throat. Your eyes are focused at the tip of your nose.
Inhale and repeat the mantra “Ong Kar” five times on that one breath. Inhale again and continue. For the last couple of minutes, I’ll ask you to pull harder on the hands, as if you are trying to pull them apart.
Remember! This is a meditation to conquer upset! Just do your best. And if possible, when you are done, give yourself a few minutes to reconnect with your surroundings before moving on with your day.

Today we’ll be revisiting an old favorite, one that calms, soothes and energizes the nervous system and creates a sense of harmony and well-being.
Sitting tall with a straight spine, using the thumb and index fingers of the right hand to make a “U.” You’ll use your thumb to close off the right nostril and your index finger to close off the left nostril.
Closing the left nostril, inhaling deeply through the right nostril. At the end of the inhale, closing the right nostril and exhaling through the left nostril.
Now inhaling through the left nostril fully and deeply, then closing the left nostril and exhaling through the right. Continuing for 3-5 minutes.
If you have any medical conditions, please check with your doctor before doing this or any other breathwork.

Wouldn’t you love to have something with you at all times to help your during stressful situations? You do! It’s your breath, and the technique we’ll be practicing, square breath, is simple and works very quickly.
Inhale slowly and steadily through the nose for a count of 10.
Gently hold the breath for a count of 10.
Exhale slowly and completely through the nose for a count of 10.
Hold the breath out for a count of 10.
And repeat as long as necessary. Honestly, five minutes should do the trick.
If you find that a count of 10 is challenging for you, it’s perfectly acceptable to start with a count of five. Just try to keep each segment equal.
If you have any medical conditions, please check with your doctor before doing this or any other breathwork.

After a few gentle stretches for your neck and shoulders, I’ll introduce and guide you through 25 repetitions of a mantra that will can help remove feelings of loneliness and fear and give you a sense of inner peace.
The mantra is Ang Sang Wahay Guru and it comes from the Kundalini Yoga tradition. Ang rhymes with “sung”. Sang is pronounced like “sung.” Wa-hay. The “r” in Guru is pronounced like a “d.” It translates to “the dynamic, loving energy of the universe vibrates in every cell of my being.”
