Do you find you are overly critical of yourself? Constantly comparing yourself to others? Never feeling like you are good enough? You are not alone.
A little self-disclosure. When I first watched this video after recording it, I was picking it apart. There were a few times my hands were too high outside of the frame of the video. And in the second part, my arms were at different levels. But in the spirit of self love, I decided I did my best and did explain it correctly, so I didn’t re-record.
This self love meditation from Kundalini Yoga will help to open your heart, create a positive relationship to yourself, and make you available to receive love.
There are three parts. In part one, you’ll be holding your right palm six to nine inches above the top center of your head facing down. The left elbow is bent with the upper arm near the rib cage. The forearm and hand point upward with the palm facing forward. Your eyes are closed and focused at the middle of the chin.
Here you will breathe long, slow, and deep with a feeling of self-affection. If you can, try to extend your breath so you inhale for 20 seconds, hold for 20 seconds and exhale for 20 seconds.
In part two, you’ll extend your arms straight out in front, parallel to the ground extending as far out as possible, with the palms facing down. Your eye focus and breath remain the same.
In part three, you’ll extend your arms up with the palms facing forward continuing with the same eye focus and breath.
I’d love to hear about your experience in the comments and would be grateful if you pass along this video and/or let other know about my YouTube channel.
