Today I’ll be guiding you through a beautiful breathwork meditation to awaken mercy and compassion. I love it because it is very calming. While the instructions may seem a little complicated, it’s actually quite simple.

Sitting tall, either on the floor or in a chair, and bringing your hands in front of your heart with the palms facing up. Bringing the pinky, ring and middle fingers of both hands so they are touching back to back and pointing toward the sky. Crossing your index fingers and extended your thumbs out straight—both are parallel to the floor. Keeping this mudra held at your heart center.

You’ll inhale through the nose in four separate sniffs—and with each sniff silently repeating the sounds SA, TA, NA, MA. Holding the breath in and silently repeating SA, TA, NA, MA. Exhaling in four separate sniffs while silently repeating SA, TA, NA, MA and then holding the breath out while silently repeating SA, TA, NA, MA.

Your eyes will be closed and focused at the third-eye point, the point between your eyebrows.
