We all have things we hold onto that no longer serve us. How liberating would it be to let those things go? The meditation I’ll be guiding you through heals the pain of the heart, clears inner anger from the subconscious mind, opens the heart center and increases intuition.
Now, good things don’t always come easy. This meditation is a little complicated because you’ll be repeating a mantra while focusing the energy at specific points in your body. To simplify things, I will practice the meditation along with you and point to those areas (while you have your hands in gyan mudra: touching the tips of your thumb and index finger, while your other fingers are extended, your wrists will be resting on the back of your knees.)
The mantra and associated points are:
Guru – at the throat center
Guru – at the Heart center, lifting the diaphragm
Wahe – at the Navel center, lifting the navel
Guru – at the lips
Guru – at the throat
Ram – at the heart
Das – at the navel
Guru – at the lips
We’ll practice for three minutes in the video, but you can work your way up to 11 minutes and even 62.

If you are looking for more energy, but without the jitters and other side effects of caffeine, right nostril breathing is a simple and effective solution.
You can do this anywhere—your desk at work, in your car stopped at a stoplight or anytime you need a quick pick-me-up.
Blocking off your left nostril with your thumb, your remaining fingers will be pointed toward the sky like an antenna. Breathing in long and deep through your right nostril, pausing for a bit and then exhaling slowly and completely through the right nostril and continuing. We practice for three minutes in this video, which is a great place to start. You can gradually build from there.

Here’s an interesting and effective technique to help you reduce tension and relax. It integrates your body and mind so you feel more like yourself—and it only takes three minutes.
You can do this sitting on the floor or in a chair. If you are in a chair, make sure your feet are flat on the floor.
Your left arm and hand will be relaxed. With the index finger and thumb of the right hand, pull on your right earlobe. Lift your right arm and pull it back so your elbow is parallel with your shoulder. Tighten the right side of your body, while keeping your left side completely relaxed. Close your eyes and just breath normally through your nose.
This technique can be found in Three Min Start by Mahankirn Kaur – https://www.mahankirn.com/.

Do you have a song, mantra or hymn that when you listen to it, it always brings you to a state of bliss? The mantra used in this meditation does it for me.
The mantra is Guru Guru Wa-hay Guru, Guru Ram Das Guru.
It is a mantra of humility, protection, relaxation and self-healing.
We’ll be repeating it in a soft monotone voice. The “r” in “guru” is pronounced like a “d.” “Ram” rhymes with calm.
You’ll be sitting in a peaceful meditative pose—either on the floor or in a chair with your eyes barely open. Men will touch the tip of the middle finger and thumb on their left hand and the tip of the ring finger and thumb on the right hand. Women reverse the mudras. The back of your hands will be rested on your knees.

Of the hundreds of meditations, breath techniques and other stress-fighting tools I’ve learned over the years, this is one of my favorites. Because it’s easy to do and easy to remember, it’s often my “go-to” if I’m going into a stressful situation. When you are feeling overwhelmed with any type of emotion, such as anger or sadness, it will help calm and center you—and it only takes three minutes.
You can do this sitting on the floor or in a chair. If you are in a chair, make sure both feet are flat on the floor. Bringing your palms together in prayer pose at your heart center with your thumbs resting against your sternum. Closing your eyes and inhaling in four separate parts through the nose and exhaling in four separate parts through the nose. Simple, huh?
